Local police are releasing the identity of a local man who was killed in Wednesday's early afternoon pedestrian crash in Coweta. Department sources say 69-year-old Howard Johnson was crossing Highway 51 near 131st Street and South 289th East Avenue when he was hit be a vehicle. Investigators say he had been attempting to cross a stretch of road where there were no traffic lights or crosswalks. Officials say the motorist remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. As of yesterday, no charges had been announced.
